Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA) are the national membership body for, and voice of, housing associations and co-operatives in Scotland. SFHA’s ambition is that everyone has a good home in a successful community, with a range of high quality, affordable, safe and accessible homes that meet people’s changing needs and aspirations throughout their lives. As SFHA Digital Lead I oversee and manage a wide portfolio of work centred around digital interally for our organisation and externally advocating best practice for 140 housing associations. So far internally, it includes managing and developing internal and external facing digital systems for SFHA including the SFHA website and CMS, SalesForce our CRM, Office 365 and it’s range of apps including Sharepoint and Teams, and a range of SaaS cloud-based platforms including Mailchimp. For all the previously mentioned systems I provide the administration control, training and advice for all our 25 staff to ensure they have the ability to do their jobs as effectively and frustration free as possible. My role also includes database and analytics management, cyber security co-ordination, and finally monitor and maintain our GDPR standards.

As the sole in-house Designer at SFHA I was responsible for the brand identity, design and visual communication for SFHA across print, digital, social media and environmental platforms. My role evolved to include completely redeveloping the SFHA website to a more modern and user friendly version then subsequently managaing and developing it to cater for the changing needs of our membershsip. I also designed and project managed the creation of an CMS events booking system which integrated with the website to provide SFHA with a commercial revenue and income for our events that increased significantly since launching. Over the course of my position I provided comprehensive design for our monthly, then quarterly printed and digital magazine which was the only housing sector publication in Scotland. Other noteable work also included marketing across social media channels as well as management and production of all external e-newsletter which were sent to targeted audiences across multiple sectors so we could promote the work SFHA and our members done in Scotland to government, stakeholders and wider third sector.

Tangent Graphic are a Design consultancy based in Glasgow, working with a vast variety of clients and organisations in Scotland and further afield. By working at Tangent, I have gained an indepth and diverse range of knowledge and understanding in all things related to creating and working with brands. This has ranged from art direction of photo-shoots to environmental design for buildings to creating a single bespoke book which was presented to the Queen.Tangent Graphic was the lead design agency for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, which was the largest sporting and cultural event ever hosted in Scotland. Over 4 years, five hundred projects and over three thousand individual designs were delivered.As part of my role at Tangent I have had to take responsibility of the creative journey of projects from start to finish, including liaising with clients to provide a comprehensive, confident service. I have gained an in-depth understanding and knowledge of how to successfully work with clients to produce the best possible creative solutions, which will fulfill and exceed expectations to produce the best possible results and/or outcomes.

This role provided me with a great understanding of working in the local Government and Public sector, building up experience of how to enable creative design to engage with key demographics of a city, as well as considering accessibility and inclusion of visuals.Due to my position and creative ability I was asked to work on projects across all of the Glasgow City Council departments as well as Arms-length companies. This meant I was able to experience a large and varied range of projects, which included taking charge of external campaigns to generate interest and exposure for Glasgow as a city. An example of this is the Curry Capital of Britain award - which we won based on a bespoke presentation to the UK committee.Other roles included working closely with the Lord Provosts office to co-ordinate the designs of events held in the city chambers - including the 'Key to the City' presentation and dinner for Billy Connolly. This also resulted in me receiving a personal letter of recommendation from the Lord Provost at the time: The Rt Hon The Lord Provost of Glasgow Councillor Bob Winter.

City Of Glasgow College, North Hanover Street, Glasgow

I began my career as an assistant designer within the in-house team at Metropolitan College, now City of Glasgow College. As part of this role, I created internal and external publications for the promotion and daily running of the college.Working in the Further Education Sector involved the creation and development of the prospectus to promote the College and it's courses to prospective students. As such, I was tasked with overseeing design, photography and production of a large volume document that was the most important tool for the college to 'sell' itself. After a year in the role I was promoted to Graphic Designer where I was the lead designer on 2 Full-time prospectus and 2 part time prospectuses, which included development of concept, artworking, photography for full document, layout and formatting, print production and adhereing to tight deadlines. For 3 months I was temporarily in charge of the Design Studio due to maternity leave - the management staff trusting me to fulfil the role.
