- Assessing the risk of participants involved in youth football after receiving a Criminal Records Check or a referral from a statutory agency/County FA.- Offering day to day support to Clubs/County FA’s, mainly Welfare Officers, with matters relating to welfare issues such as safeguarding or disciplinary matters.- Gathering evidence from a number of different sources to assist with a final assessment.- Compiling risk assessment reports that are presented with the relevant evidence to a safeguarding review panel.- Liaising with a participant, club, county and/or statutory agency to keep them informed of the progress of a case.- Managing a caseload and working to particular deadlines.- Corresponding and working with the other relevant internal departments in The FA- In January 2014, became responsible for supervising a new member of staff, including initial training and leading supervision sessions.

Letchworth Garden City

- Conducted CRB checks on a day to day basis to ensure an applicant's suitability for a position and confirm they did not present a risk to children/vulnerable adults.- Large scale research and analysis using police crime and intelligence systems- Made informed decisions on whether the applicant could pose a risk and if so, provided a suitable ‘disclosure text’ to inform the potential employer.- Prepared and completed reports regarding serious offenders for the Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA).- Daily liaison with internal and external contacts. This included communication with police officers, social services and other services within the criminal justice system.- Corresponded with the Paedophile Liaison Unit about any individuals being investigated by them.- Completed training in a number of police related systems, including the Police National Computer (PNC) and the Violent and Sexual Offender’s Register (ViSOR).- Trained newer members of staff on the day to day processes as well as the individual crime systems- Took on the role of a temporary supervisor, managing a team and ensuring their work was completed to the highest standard. - Assisted the unit manager in carrying out interviews for temporary members of staff.
