Founder + Ceo
Emerald Valley Publishing Co.
I founded and published computer and electronic-music magazines internationally (99'er Magazine, Home Computer Magazine, BASIC Computing Journal, LOGO Times, Music & Electronics, etc.) plus created a combination book/software series (OnDisk Revue) for all the major bookstore chains. I also produced computer trade shows on land (TiFest in San Francisco) and at sea (CompuCruise); created a music technology direct mail catalog business (Cornucopia); and contributed to the testing and development of newly emerging technology standards such as MIDI, PDF, and an SGML-derivative multimedia markup language (that even pre-dated HTML).In an effort that ushered in the new era of what would eventually be known as “Desktop Publishing,” my computer magazine division joined forces with Apple and Aldus to test and refine the first versions of the LaserWriter and PageMaker software--eventually disrupting the method of typesetting in the publishing world.
