Consulting, evaluating, care planning, coordinating, counseling, and coaching for elders and their family members in obtaining appropriate senior services. Geriatric consultation is useful for individuals faced with the following experiences:● Adult children who are struggling with how to better assist their parent(s) who are resisting help as they are declining● Not knowing what decisions to make about appropriate resources or type of support needed● Stress related to care giving and dealing with someone with dementia● Long-distance care giving issues● Elder spouses experiencing couple conflict/stress● Elder couples where one is healthy and the other is declining and requires care● Seniors experiencing decline in memory, emotional, physical, social, and daily functioning● Communication difficulties among family members or conflict between family members and elder parents● Advocacy needed when a senior is in a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living/personal care residence● Grief and end of life issues
