After six years of college I started a career in the Medical Field as a Paramedic Firefighter. I worked a shift of 24 hours on and 48 hours off. On my days off I founded a Durable Medical Equipment Company that focused on home oxygen and respiratory needs. Within five years my “side job” had grown so large that I resigned from the fire department to work full time at my companies Medical and Safety Solutions, MedSafety First Aid, and MedSafety Home Medical Equipment. During this 17 year company ownership I was married and had four sons. As the companies grew I received offers I could not refuse for acquisition from national providers. I sold my companies to the Cintas Corporation (CTAS, Nasdaq), UniFirst Corporation (UNF, NYSE), and AirProducts Gas and Chemical (AP, NYSE).
