In 1990 I started at McCoy Millwork in the warehouse and worked my way up to be General Manager, having held many varied positions from order puller, delivery driver, sales, purchasing and GM.Duties has GM included:* Administering daily operations of a 5 million dollar company* Collaborated in the development of the company mission statement and vision* Participated in the development of budgets, sales goals and profit margins.Responsible for follow- through of these goals with managers and staff* Supervised managers and employees in the development and maintenance of existing and new customer accounts* Presided over interviews, hiring and evaluating employee reviews and dismissals* Responded to and helped resolve customer complaints and employee conflicts* Guided staff development, training and product knowledgeDuties as Purchasing Manager included:* Responsible for the quality and maintenance of a $400,000 dollar inventory with 1500 SKU's* Negotiated pricing and terms on all new and existing products* Researched and developed new products with sales and vendors* Established and maintained quality vendor relationships* Resolved all quality and performance problems related to inventory* Directed design, development, production and distribution of all marketing materials and events including; catalog, print ads, flyers, brochures, media and public relations* Attended and participated in trade shows and vendor product knowledge seminars* Managed warehouse receiving department
