Have expertise in the following areas: 1) RDBMS Support (e.g. RMAN, Patching, ASM, Performance Tuning, RAC, etc), 2) OCI (e.g. OSS, VCN/Subnets, Administration,Ansible,etc), 3) Migration (e.g. ZDM, Data Guard, Goldengate, etc) 4) Setting and implementing RDBMS Best Practice (e.g. DB Parameters, Scheduled Jobs, etc). Primarily Responsible for ensuring the 24/7 availability and performance of the Systems used in our organization. Some of the Systems I support include Cerner Millenium (Lab), SIS (Surgical), Elite (Supply Chain), Lawson (Financial ERP), Peoplesoft (HR) and Symantec DLP (Security)Advise on how best to implement Oracle Solutions in order to meet the requirements of each System, including Design of those requirements.Primarily responsible for implementing the Recovery Strategy of each System. Responsibilities:1. Solely Responsible for the continuous availability, maintenance, performance and upgrade of all Database Environments2. As Cloud Administrator, working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), responsible for provisioning new Database Environments, from:- Allocation of Volumes to new instance- Creation of fileystems- Oracle Software Installation and Database Build- Application Schema Deployment3. Solely Responsible for developing new functionality via PL/SQL 4. Performance Tuning and Redesign of existing code5. Debugging and resolution of any Production issues6. Database Support for Developers and management of any database releases7. Development of Shell Scripts in order to improve processes within companyAchievements:1. Developed a semi-automated solution to archive “old” data to an Archive DB and remove that data from the Production environment2. Reduced the refresh times of 2 Materialized Views, both taking over an hour, to under 15 minutes3. Re-designed and re-developed an existing data load procedure, as well as adding new functionality. Even though the new procedure was “doing more work”, the performance times didn’t degrade. Features utilized in the solution included Sub-partitioning, direct-path inserts, analytical sql4. Working on a solution to provision a new environment for a new customer in under a day. The solution will involve AWS functionality, shell scripts to automate the environment preparation (environment variables, directories, permissions, etc) and scripts to create the database and build the schema.5. Developed a solution to automatically refresh Test environments from Production every 4 weeks.6. Worked with Amazon to advise on and resolve a recurrent data block corruption issue7. Have implemented other performance tuning initiatives, utilizing Fast-Refreshable Materialized Views and improving selectivity of queries and SQL Plan Baselines.

Responsibilities:1. Support of Production Databases (i.e. Monitoring via OEM/TOAD, Resolution of Issues, Performance Tuning, Management and Implementation of Projects)2. Responsible for Test Environment (e.g. Refreshing of Test Systems, Resolution of Issues, Migration of subsets of data between databases, etc)3. Heavily involved in the planning and testing of the upgrade of our Production Databases to Oracle 11g and personally implemented the upgrades successfully.2. Coded a PL/SQL solution to capture long-running queries on Production and cancel them, if necessary.3. Developed a PL/SQL package, which generated a weekly report on the performance of RMAN Backups. 4. Lead a project whereby possible Disaster Recovery Scenarios are mapped against plausible Recovery Solutions. (Involves RMAN, Dataguard and Flashback Technologies predominantly).Designed a strategy around the reduction of space in Production of a 1TB Table which has LOBs as columns. Solution involved Partitioning and Securefiles..5. Provided DBA Support for a Project in which clients wished for “lookup” data on our database to be translated. The work involved coding a solution, whereby the relevant data was extracted and, once translated, fed back into the system.6. Put together a Package to Refresh Test Database with Production and then developed another package to deploy the Schemas across the Test Estate.7. Helped to reduce size of the main Production Database from 8.3TB to 7TB through a strategy of partitioning and archiving of large tables. 8. Designed and Presented SQL Training Courses to 6 different teams within the company9. Used Dataguard and RMAN Duplication to migrate Production Databases to a new environment.

This work was completed to an SLA3. Ensure RMAN Backups, Database Exports, Monitoring Tools, Housekeeping Scripts, etc are configured correctly for each database on each server.4. Delivered an Oracle environment at late notice for a project, which involved working on a Saturday and Sunday). Received bonus on timely and efficient completion.5. Proposed and implemented successfully a solution to a database purging problem. This database was a key part of a Managed Testing Service. The clients wished for all records that were over 18 months old to be deleted from the database. The initiative ran into several problems due to lack of space on disk. This complex problem was successfully solved and I received a bonus for this work and excellent feedback.6. Have successfully provisioned several RAC environments for different projects
