I Lead bid preparation on international transport and mobility projects across Africa, Middle East and Europe. I'm primarily working on projects in East and Northern Africa at the moment. Currently fulfilling lead transport expert roles on two large projects in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Tasks include managing a large scale survey program (over 200 survey locations), developing traffic and transport concepts, traffic modelling with a range of programs from SIDRA, PTV Vistro, PTV VISSIM and LISA, preparing reports, presenting concepts to Client representatives, and preparing training materials.

Traffic engineering and transport planning involvement in over 500 projects. Personally managed over 200 projects on behalf of this company. Projects ranged from small to large and covered many industries including residential, retail, commercial, industrial, education, health, recreation and mining. Worked with key developers in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland and Australia. Project locations from northwest Queensland to Sydney, New South Wales and many places in between.Provided design review, recommendations and assessment of; parking areas, accesses, servicing and areas and waste collection strategies, internal (new or private) roads, intersections, active transport facilities/networks and public transport (bus and taxi facilities).Determined traffic impacts of developments on the public road network including traffic capacity and pavement capacity. Analysed parking demands of existing and new developments to determine what, if any, parking strategies are required for a particular development. Set up traffic survey and acoustic measuring equipment. Undertook manual traffic and parking surveys and condition assessments of public roads. Prepared traffic reports, traffic impact assessments, parking assessments, pavement impact assessments, Transport chapters for Environmental Impact Assessments, responses to Information Requests from local and state road authorities and certifications for as-built structures.Liaised with road authorities, project teams and clients via phone, email, and in-person meetings to determine traffic and transport issues and resolve these where possible.

Fulfilled the duties of a Nightfill and Duty Manager intermittently from 2003 to 2010 around my studies (excl. 2010 when I was working in the UK). Supervised/motivated a small to medium group with mixed levels of experience to maintain stock levels. Managed cash floats, receipts and security processes. Resolved and reported on any issues during the shifts.

Key task during this year of Industry Based Learning included preparing Motorway Accident Reports for Area 10 in Northwest England. These reports were prepared by collating information to describe relevant trends for each segment and intersection of the major road network in this area.Fulfilled duties of an Assistant Engineer for a month, including client liaison to progress over 10 projects. Assisted the Survey Team for a month on various road, river, infrastructure and building surveys. Managed AutoCAD Technicians and other staff to prepare various minor reports.
