Retired civil engineer.With over 30 years experience, I have worked on a wide range of Civil Engineering projects including highway improvement schemes and public realm works and have performed a wide range of activities relating to design, contract drawing and document preparation.I have experience of delivering projects in multi-disciplinary environments through scheme involvement with in-house design teams as well as working with Clients, Contractors and other stakeholders as part of Design and Build projects.In my current role as Design Engineer I undertake design for a variety of projects. I am a competent designer with good people, communication and report writing skills; I also supervise and mentor junior staff.I am proficient in the use of current design software applications including Bentley MXRoad and AutoCAD.I have experience in feasibility, preliminary and detailed design of major/minor highway schemes, as well as being part of contractor joint venture design teams. I have a good working knowledge with regards to design standards including Manual Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW) and Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB).
