As the organization’s chief medical officer, I am directly responsible for managing our on-site organ and tissue recovery center, a first-of-its-kind facility. Our highly trained staff applies the principles of critical care medicine to improve donor management and deliver a larger number of lifesaving organs for transplant. Through our innovative approaches, Mid-America Transplant has identified methods to improve organ and tissue procurement, earning the 2015 Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award. This commitment to excellence has enabled us to provide record-breaking numbers of transplants to critically ill patients in our region.I am a seasoned critical care physician with more than 36 years of experience practicing internal medicine.
