Pickering Nuclear Station, First Line Manager, 1994 to 2007Laundry Facility: Supervised a crew of 8 Civil Maintainers in the collection of human cotton goods, towels and plastic radiation suits. Used 5 large industrial washers to wash the aforementioned goods. Used 2 different drying systems for cotton, towels and plastic coveralls. The work involved some larger radiation hazards at times. Ensured clean goods were returned to field locations including 3 large changerooms. With the assistance of other mechanical, electrical and civil maintenance trades, improved the materiel condition of the facility. Also purchased over $50K in distribution and receiving carts, which were ergonomically friendly to the staff.Unit 0, Civil Maintenance Crew – Supervised indirectly with the assistance of 3 Union Supervisors as many as 50 Civil Maintainers involved in floor maintenance, office cleaning, laboratory cleaning maintenance areas cleaning and outside buildings maintenance.
