Sr. Director, Technology
CurrentCurrently focused on Machine Vision and ADAS research. Created:- FastADAS SDK.- Machine Vision SDK.- FastCV SDK.Prior R&D lead of:- Machine Vision group.- Augmented Reality SW group for the Vuforia SDK.- Comp. Photography and CV R&D SW groups.Previously (2008) focused on RF physics simulation and parallel computing research:- Created the first massively parallel (~1000 cores) outdoor photon-level simulation of multi-path RF propagation through 3D environments. Along with it, also created CDMA PHY and MAC layers atop and a full-earth GUI (like Google Earth).- Created the first Simulated Annealing (SA) global wireless network optimizer which worked in conjunction with the photon-level simulation.- Created Corp. R&D's first massively parallel compute farm and designed a self-organizing management system to provide equal-grade-of-service to hundreds of users while maintaining >90% resource utilization.- Created the first air-to-ground (ATG) simulation, global optimizer, along with the first North American network plan all of which were sold to Aircell to later become the GoGo wireless service available on commercial flights.--- ATG simulation massively parallel and used Monte Carlo techniques, Digital Elevation Model and terrain data for the entire North America, actual recorded minute-by-minute North American flight data of all private and commercial flights, sophisticated multi-path ray-trace RF modeling, beam forming antenna modeling, switched beam antenna modeling, PHY+MAC+Link Layer modeling, market models, and in-flight activity models to simulate entire network at a fine grain level.- Created the first network wide simulation of EV-DO (our first wireless data system), network planner, and network plans for test markets.- Founding member of Corporate R&D.- Created the first full-space convolutional code optimization simulations for the reverse link that became the last revision of IS-95 (our first version of CDMA).
