I currently work as a Global End user and Infrastructure engineer at Aon Ltd. My specific function is to look after GPO configuration and maintenance across the global domain. I also act as 3rd/4th level support and solution design for the end user environment and the infrastructure supporting it.

I primarily worked as an End-User Architect/SME for the AON Ltd Account providing application and end-user environments for the current Win2k/WinXP/Vista platform along with design of and authority for the End-user Infrastructure supporting it.

I moved from London to Glasgow into the Packaging team as deputy team leader where I created, amended and deployed applications throughout the Aon Ltd network. I also provided 3rd level support to the various support teams throughout the country. We deal with all aspects of the application and pc setup in the company from ensuring builds are compatible with all new pc and laptop models through to project roll-outs of applications.I was also involved in the roll-out of a new Win2k operating system, which used HP’s Radia/Novadigm as an application packaging/deployment mechanism as opposed to SMS and a bespoke delivery system which we were using.

To further my career, i moved to Aon’s head office at the time in Lloyd’s Chambers in London where I became the Desktop Support Lead for the London team of 5 Analysts reporting to an offsite manager.Our team supported a London userbase of some 1000+ users in 3-4 different sites.

When AON took over Bain Hogg completely, I moved to the Caterham office where I became a Desktop Support Analyst. My skills ranged from basic maintenance of Unix based systems through to the day to day support of a large Call-Centre with around 250 users.The continuing roll-out of the Win98 platform meant that I visited a large part of the AON offices in the UK helping and sometimes managing the roll-outs.

I worked at Bain Hogg as a trainee (and eventual) Novell Netware network administrator. This covered a local and wide area network comprising 63 File and Print Netware servers around the UK with around 2000 users attached. Working as part of a team of three people my duties included configuration of printers, maintenance and update of files and programs, creation and deletion of users/groups and administration thus ensuring the integrity of the network at all times.Towards the end of my time at Bain Hogg I began helping with the project management of the update of platforms to Win98.
