Working directly for the Client, I was entrusted with the directive of managing the planning and construction of commercial property assets, ensuring project outcomes are aligned with business objectives, and forming lasting relationships with key stakeholders.Key responsibilities:• Engaging with stakeholders to define project scope, deliverables and constraints necessary to guide project planning and execution.• Production and iterative refinement of Feasibility Studies through value engineering principles to optimise project outcomes while adhering to constraints.• Producing Site Development Plans, calculating quantities, reviewing of designs and estimates received from Architects, Engineers and Contractors to ensure accuracy and feasibility.• Engaging in the selection and vetting of external professionals/service providers and subsequent management and coordination throughout project delivery phases.• Handling applications for Development and Building Approvals, ensuring compliance of designs with Council by-laws and building codes to avoid delays.• Providing on-site supervision and oversight of construction activities to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and quality requirements.• Conducting property condition assessments and reporting, coordinating tenant fit-outs and installations, planning and managing maintenance to support ongoing operations.Achievements:• Leading a multi-disciplinary development team in the planning, construction and successful delivery of flagship warehouse/commercial facility of 4000m2 complimented by a 1000m2 office for Brambles Group.• Managing the 1500m2 extension of existing and fully operational warehouse/commercial facility.• Managing complete renovation of a 2000m2 commercial facility, encompassing enhancements to eaves height, floors, cladding, roofing, electrical system upgrades and fire protection measures.• Management and co-ordination of comprehensive tenant fit-out of a 1500m2 corporate head office.

Role Overview:Assigned to the Municipal Engineering Department of a multi-disciplinary Engineering Firm, the role was focussed on the design and administration of civil infrastructure projects, including bulk earthworks, stormwater, roads, waste water treatment and water. Clients were both public and private and included the Department of Public Works, Lanseria International Airport, The Johannesburg Roads Agency and Dube Tradeport.Responsibilities:• Collaboration with a multi-disciplinary design team consisting of both internal and external members.• Fieldwork which included topographical surveys, geotech investigations and infrastructure assessments.• Extensive utilisation of Civil Designer software, AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite in the preparation of tender documentation, project specifications and design drawings, civil works BoQ's, technical report and master plans.• Applying National, Council and Industry design standards to ensure compliance with by-laws and regulations.• Monitoring active construction activities, which include conducting QC checks, calculating quantities, issuing payment certificates and progress reporting.• Complying with project specific and corporate governance requirements and policies.Achievements:• Construction supervision of erosion protection infrastructure projects for the Johannesburg Roads Agency. • Successful execution of wastewater treatment plant rejuvenation projects for the Department of Public Works across multiple locations.• Strategically siting of new air traffic control tower at Lanseria International Airport, navigating through various site-specific constraints while adhering to international airport design standards.• Production of a concise Stormwater Master Plan for Lanseria International Airport through site investigations, runoff calculations and software modelling.• Forecasting, design and budgeting of earthworks and bulk civil infrastructure for Airport Master Planning reports.
