Manage environmental and land use review of large-scale resource development projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Plan, organize, and manage reviews of land use lease applications for compliance with state environmental standards and legal requirements. Coordinate with internal and external contacts to streamline the permitting and plan review process. Collaborate with federal agencies to address conflicts, eliminate duplication of efforts and alert them to areas where Alaska standards are more stringent than federal standards. Represented the Commissioner in meetings with department directors, government officials, Alaska tribal leaders, and members of the public. Developed and managed work programs for the development and update of short-range and long-range plans for improvements to the ski area’s infrastructure. Responsible for development of a strategic business plan addressing year-round recreational opportunities. Prepared technical reports, summaries and policy recommendations for to the ski area board and city assembly. Designed and implemented public involvement program for strategic business development plan. Developed goals, policies and implementation strategies to address land use issues including water quality, habitat, recreation and trails, transportation and infrastructure. Conducted geological field work cataloging Forest Service RARE II lands in Montana for mineral values. Extensive sampling of historical and active underground and placer mines, researching historical records and preparing summary reports.
