Pacifica Pain Management Services provides in-patient, multidisciplinary, biopsychosocial pain management services to severe, chronic pain syndromes over the past 29 years.Gary Mills, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the Pain Management Program. He is a licensed psychologist specializing in Pain Management, psychotherapy, behavioral medicine and chemical dependency. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of San Francisco, Master's in Psychology from San Francisco State College and his Ph,D, in General Experimental Psychology from the University of Ottawa. He holds a Diplomate from the American Academy of Pain Management and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the American Pain Society and the International Association for the Study of Pain.His expertise is biopsychosocial assessment and treatment of chronic pain syndromes. He designs and orchestrates effective treatment programs for catastrophic chronic pain syndromes with particular emphasis on occupational medicine cases.His publications and public speaking engagements focus on chronic pain, polypharmacy, opioid induced hyperalgesia, and mood disorders/somatization in relationship to hyeralgesia.
