After graduating college, Gary obtained his Master Electrian license and started his career has a contractor rehabbing multi-family and single family homes via JR Ross Contracting later involving into Twenty Nine 16 Development. Gary is a 2017 REAP graduate, REAP (Real Estate Associate Program) is a program that aims to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the commercial real estate industry. The program uses education, mentorship, and partnerships to achieve its goals. A 2023 Rising Trades Graduate. Building Energy Exchange KC (BE-Ex KC), a Climate Action KC initiative, is a proud partner of the Rising Trades Contractor Accelerator program. The collaboration of BE-Ex KC, Elevate, Business Services Collective and SEED Collective represents expertise in construction, building sciences, energy efficiency and professional services support, including legal and financial guidance for construction contractors. Gary is also a proud board member of 15 years for “The Know Joey Foundation”. The Know Joey? Foundation is the brainchild of Mr. Joseph Thomas, a notable barber and entrepreneur within the Kansas City area. Already successful from his well known barbershops, Joseph “Joey” Thomas wanted to create a non-profit that benefited the inner city Kansas City community young males. In 2023, Gary founded “Thank God its Happy Hour” a happy hour for minority owned business owners to network and gain tools to help grow their businesses or brands. The happy hour is located inside “Carletta’s Next Level Business Hub” a partnership Gary formed with Carletta Temple to establish a Business & Entrepreneur Clinic. GF Mitchell the business consulting firm Gary founded in 2023 aims to provide Marketing & Branding, Business coaching, Business consulting and Business development services.
