Providing AP Petroleum support services to a short term contract which has been assisting AMEY services complete a number of legacy SSW engineering projects on UK military airfield petroleum installations including removal of buried fuel tanks and replacement with above ground tanks, fuel manifolds and pumping facilities.

Afghanistan

Headed up the NCS Fuels QA/QC and laboratory management teams across multiple airfield locations in support of the NATO forces fuel requirements whilst operating in Afghanistan.
Implemented the production, review and amendment of all operational SOPs to support the fuel supply contract.
Set up the Safe Systems of Work SOPs for the Permit to Work procedure employed on high risk activities conducted on the fuel sites including being appointed as one of the Approved Persons Petroleum (AP PET) to manage/control the work permits.
Set up a Gate keeper management system designed to review the integrity of the commercial supply chain for all bulk fuel stock purchased and supplied to the NATO forces.
Assisted/Hosted, Bureau Veritas and ANAB external auditors during the review and award of NCS fuels ISO 9001 and 17025 accreditation awards.
Assisted the HSE management team with the initial set up and planning of the companies HSE policies, procedures and operational reviews.
Appointed as the companies Authorising Engineer (AE PET) in country to ensure the companies PTW safety program was audited inline with requirements.
Conducted RCFA investigations of all process/procedure failures discovered or reported to NCS Fuel within the supply chain or operational process.
Conducted site inspections of all supplier fuel installations located in Afghanistan, UAE including operational and safety inspections of supply partner facilities whilst under major infrastructure expansion programs.

Working for Supreme fuels in FOB ******* southern Afghanistan for the USG. This involves the day to day management of a busy Fuels Laboratory giving advice and laboratory analysis to the BFI and flight line installations of the FOB in line with USG ASTM standards.
The Laboratory in ******* conducts B1, C and C+ testing of both ground and aviation fuels to the relevant standard of the customer and gives analysis and guidance to the BFI for the correct blending of all additives on site.

Chad Central Africa

Working for PDL TOLL on the United Nations MINURCAT mission in Chad based in Goz Bieda Eastern Chad. This position involves the day to day running, maintenance and repair of a very busy medium sized bulk fuel storage site and also an Aircraft refuelling role at the adjacent UN Airfield dealing with a vast selection of UN Aircraft.

The PDL TOLL site incorporates both Ground fuels and Jet A1 Aviation fuel and also holds the strategic fuel reserve for the MINURCAT Mission in Sector south.

This position also involves the management, training and administration support for a small team of local staff as well as close support to the PDL TOLL Sector Manager giving advice and help on a number of fuel and accounting related issues, as well as testing all ground and aviation fuels to maintain quality control of all products issued.

Due to the site’s remoteness, all service, maintenance and major repairs were also carried out on site to all fuel assets’ including Aircraft refuelling trucks, pickup trucks and all petroleum plant used on site.

Basra Iraq

Bulk Fuel Installation (BFI) Manager, working for KBR UK on a Defence Support Contract in Southern Iraq, providing logistical support to the US and UK military. Which form part of the Multi National force Iraq (MNFI). Responsible for the operation of the MoD bulk fuel installation, that supplies aviation and ground fuel to both British and Foreign Forces. Key areas of responsibility include the receipt, issue and safe storage of bulk and packed petroleum, oil’s and lubricants and industrial gasses. The monthly turn over of bulk fuel is in excess of
15 million litres. Additional Responsibilities include: Health & Safety, continuation training and the upkeep of records and Certificates of Technical Competence and all aspects of Environmental awareness. Providing all laboratory testing and reports to the British forces and US army based in Basra and other areas of southern Iraq for the quality control of aviation fuels used in all aircraft flying out of Basra airport.

• The management and supervision of 28 foreign nationals and trained petroleum operators.
• Give advice to British Army Units in Iraq on all environmental matters with regards to the safe storage of bulk / packed fuels, oils and lubricants.
• Link between civilian companies and military organisations for demands of fuel, oil and lubricants.
• Ensuring Biological Security measures are actioned prior to issue and receipt of material from overseas.
• Advising unit commanders on all aspects incorporated with the storage and handling of petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gasses and waste generated from the daily use of these products.
• Management of the chemical laboratory and testing of fuels to ensure good quality control of all products issued.
