Bulk Fuel Installation (BFI) Manager, working for KBR UK on a Defence Support Contract in Southern Iraq, providing logistical support to the US and UK military. Which form part of the Multi National force Iraq (MNFI). Responsible for the operation of the MoD bulk fuel installation, that supplies aviation and ground fuel to both British and Foreign Forces. Key areas of responsibility include the receipt, issue and safe storage of bulk and packed petroleum, oil’s and lubricants and industrial gasses. The monthly turn over of bulk fuel is in excess of
15 million litres. Additional Responsibilities include: Health & Safety, continuation training and the upkeep of records and Certificates of Technical Competence and all aspects of Environmental awareness. Providing all laboratory testing and reports to the British forces and US army based in Basra and other areas of southern Iraq for the quality control of aviation fuels used in all aircraft flying out of Basra airport.
ADDITIONAL KEY STRENGTHS
• The management and supervision of 28 foreign nationals and trained petroleum operators.
• Give advice to British Army Units in Iraq on all environmental matters with regards to the safe storage of bulk / packed fuels, oils and lubricants.
• Link between civilian companies and military organisations for demands of fuel, oil and lubricants.
• Ensuring Biological Security measures are actioned prior to issue and receipt of material from overseas.
• Advising unit commanders on all aspects incorporated with the storage and handling of petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gasses and waste generated from the daily use of these products.
• Management of the chemical laboratory and testing of fuels to ensure good quality control of all products issued.
