Oversaw staff development and training. Negotiated labor contracts with companies on behalf of union members as well as negotiating daily work conditions for employees. Provided direction and guidance in numerous efforts to persuade represented companies to negotiate, in good faith, labor agreements represented by the Union and other organizations. Organized numerous public actions to support worker and community issues and concerns, many of which were attended by a cross section of workers, community members, media and public officials. Key member of team that brought $26 million federal training grant to Union Members. Coordinated the efforts of a large group of employees to lobby for the sale of a long-distance network communication platform that added a minimal 35 production jobs. Wrote numerous press releases and op-ed pieces outlining actions, public actions, legislative concerns and hoped for resolves to worker issues and complaints. Other Local positions held included Recording Secretary, Membership Representative, Administrator of Labor Contracts, Grievance Committee Chair, Training Facilitator, COPE Chair, Job Grades Chair, Legislative Committee Chair, Community Service Chair and FMLA Applications Liaison and others. Investigated, wrote and presented several hundred grievances and numerous arbitrations.
