INTRODUCTION: I am an experienced and qualified Worksafe registered trainer and assessor, (reg # WA 2215) competent in delivering training and assessments for a most mining equipment including high risk licences and verification of competency certificates (VOC’s).I have long term experience in leading hand / supervisor roles including facilitating and co-ordinating work-front planning and prioritising tasks for shift teams and work-crews. The recipient of many awards and commendations for safety initiatives, I am a qualified safety mentor (Cert IV OH&S), developing skills for workplace task planning and crew effectiveness / team development. Many years experience on various mineral based mine-sites as an operator for processing plants including research & development projects, advanced rigger, scaffolder, dogman and crane operator. High level general all-rounder with multiple skills sets and experience on numerous cranes, platforms, machines and plant. PERSONAL STATEMENT: Over forty years in the industry, my vocation is coaching and mentoring to bridge the gap between safety training and safe behaviours.My goal is to successfully overcome the significant inadequacies in safety training, by educating people in safety culture (what works), and the importance of individual’s task planning, vigilance and safety compliance (best practice).My extensive, practical experience as an operator in the mining and construction industries enables me to fully understand all aspects of the site/workplace; coupled with my managerial experience I have a holistic perspective of the organisation. With the experienced gained over the years, I am accustomed to taking on many and varied responsibilities. My objective is to have a positive influence on effective safety training into the future.
