My practice focuses on compliance and permitting counseling, as well as civil and administrative litigation under the major federal and state environmental, health and safety laws, including (but not limited to) the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards. In addition, a significant portion of my practice involves counseling clients as to environmental due diligence for various commercial real estate, tax credit, investment and M&A transactions.Prior to private practice, I was an assistant attorney general in the Environmental Enforcement Section of the Ohio Attorney General’s Office where I was trial counsel in numerous matters involving air pollution permitting and enforcement. In that role, I briefed and argued before the Tenth District Court of Appeals, the Ohio Supreme Court, and various courts of common pleas, as well as the Environmental Review Appeals Commission.
