Covid hit world saw me furloughed. Rather than sit back and relax I applied to tesco for a bakery role which I was successful in. Unfortunatly there were not enough hours so I switched to the home shopping role to stay busy which is where I am currently employed. The role is physically demanding and target driven. I have managed to get myself trained as a picker, replenisher, loader, despacher and as a fire warden. I was recently offered a team leader role but declined this due to hours clashing with childcare.

Targets set by company and KPI's that have to be met every week. Cash handling and pre emptive ordering to ensure sales and waste targets met.

Cook and prepare food for customers ensuring quality is 100%. Keep kitchen clean and tidy at all times. Open in morning and get ready for days trade preparing daily specials & salad. Closedown entails cleaning to company spec and leaving kitchen ready for the strongest possible start next morning.

This was my own bakery/sandwich shop/coffee shop which I opened on a tight budget back in 2014. We quickly built up a succesful wholesale operation and local walk in trade. Tried being different with quality top of the agenda and offering sandwich fillings that were not your normal "Greggs". Cakes were made with slight twists to give customers a new favourite. Reluctantly sold due to amount of hours worked and the preussures of the arrival of new baby boy.

Orpington

Bakery manager for new store opening in May 2009. Had the benefit of building team from scratch so knew what I was looking for not what I was getting. Training staff in two weeks to get them "good enough" to cope with the high demands expected from senior managers and my own high standards.
