I have been employed at Muja Power Station for over 19 years gaining invaluable thermal generation experience. I currently hold the position of Turbine group Manager, this role involves the day to day leadership and management of Engineers, Technicians and multi-discipline maintenance employees. I have dedicated myself for the past 13 years in a leadership / manager role to ensure that the team is constantly focused on continual improvement, personal safety and optimal plant reliability. My core experience is the supervision and management of full major Turbine centreline overhauls to OEM specification on Toshiba and Parson steam Turbines. Duties• Manage a team of up to 24 multi-discipline personnel, working collegiately with various professions.• Manage the dismantling and the assembling of multiple stage Parson and Toshiba turbines including generators.• Consult with on-site engineers on local issues and plant recommendations.• Consult with external contractors, Siemens and Toshiba Technical field advisors.• Provide practical and technical recommendations on Turbine issues to external power… Show more Duties• Manage a team of up to 24 multi-discipline personnel, working collegiately with various professions.• Manage the dismantling and the assembling of multiple stage Parson and Toshiba turbines including generators.• Consult with on-site engineers on local issues and plant recommendations.• Consult with external contractors, Siemens and Toshiba Technical field advisors.• Provide practical and technical recommendations on Turbine issues to external power stations.• Liaise with various professionals in regards to aforementioned machinery.• Create, maintain and execute budgets for the Turbine Outage.• Manage, Supervise and instruct the overhaul of turbine auxiliary plant including feed heaters, oil coolers and pumps, high pressure, FW valves and safety valves.• Quality Control of all associated work in my control, including QA Officer for turbines on AB refurbishment.• Develop and produce ITP’s, Turbine Inspection record charts and QA documents.• Develop and approve method sheets• Full involvement with safety from job planning, risk assessments, consultation with safety team, sign-off of SWMS, to conducting safety inspections and audits daily.Achievements• Shift supervisor on M7 & M8 HIP module replacement. I held a lead role in mentoring and instructing the working crew on removal and replacement of the LP turbine and Generator disassembly, overhaul and rebuild maintained the schedule.• Successfully completed turbine training under direction of the then, main Siemens Turbine engineer.• Successful completion of Front Line Management training. • KTEC course for Toshiba Turbines in Japan• Coal face supervision of the successful Electric over Hydraulic Governor upgrade on 2 Parson and 2 Toshiba Steam Turbines• I personally controlled the restoration of stage “B” during the Veranus gas crisis. In my lead role I supervised numerous and multi-disciplined crews to get both 1950 Parson 60MW Steam Turbines back online. Show less
