I am an advisor to the Area Manager, providing reliable data and solid suggestions to help the team make the proper decisions in regards to operating plan, OEE improvements, Lean system improvements, manning requirements, scrap reduction initiatives, and overtime schedules. I manage improvement activities and coordinate actions between production, quality, engineering, and maintenance. I track and manage Productivity Improvement Planning and the formal Kaizen Suggestion Program, as well as the plant's A3 problem solving program. I am systems oriented, able to modify and implement new systems as necessary and to sustain improvements. I fully understand the concepts of Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping and use this knowledge in daily decision making process. I use data measured from the shop floor to plan a future state map and generate an action item list that will deliver results, eliminating waste in the system. I have a great deal of experience in 5S/Workplace Organization, Quick Changeover, Cellular/Flow Manufacturing, Pull Systems, Total Preventive Maintenance, Kaizen Event Facilitation, Facilities Layout, and Equipment Selection. Tracking and reporting daily metrics on efficiency, OEE, FTQ, build attainment, Lean initiatives, PIPP initiatives, Lean audits, and numerous other projects and initiatives. Prepare weekly business meeting and Operations Review presentations. Implemented programs to reduce overtime and increase both efficiency and OEE. I tracked daily plant inventory and reported out monthly to the plant manager on Productivity Improvements, and Scrap reduction efforts. Provide guidance to Production Coordinators (General Foreman) and Production Supervisors. Conduct daily OEE walks, weekly 5S walks and Value Stream walks with the management team. Work closely with the UAW Committee personnel on a daily basis to ensure seniority rights, job change rights, FMLA rights, Shop Rules and compensation guidelines were maintained.

As the Production Coordinator for Plant 2, I was responsible for leading 4 Production Supervisors, 1 safety representative, 1 quality representative, and 2 materials supervisors in the GMT 900 axle component groups, including axle shaft machining group, tube welding and machining group, carrier machining group, and carrier assembly group. I ensured that the axle assembly line had the required component inventories in place. I scheduled and oversaw daily changeovers, overtime schedules, scrap meetings, OEE meetings, 5S walks, LEAN workshops, Work Instruction changes as well as ensuring that Material Handling and supermarket management were in place. I led the daily startup meetings and end of shift meetings with the salaried management. I interacted on a daily basis with UAW employees and UAW Union Committee personnel. I managed the disciplinary requirements for my shift and represented my supervisors during paragraph 76 interviews as needed. I scheduled and led monthly UAW sensing sessions.

Supervised GMT 900 Tube welding and machining groups. I was responsible for 46 UAW employees and to provide the assembly line the proper mix of tubes to keep the axle assembly line running. I exercised discipline in accordance with Shop Rules and worked daily with the UAW Committee personnel. I scheduled overtime and changeovers daily. I held daily scrap and OEE reviews. I managed material handling and maintenance work throughout the course of daily operations. I maintained LEAN principals and 5S principals on the job.
