• Manage and review all related accounting and financial functions of the business• Supervise 2 staff members in daily accounting and operational functions• Present weekly financial updates to CFO and finance team. • Interview candidates for open positions in the finance department• Partner with controller in the preparation of financial statements, and footnote disclosures• Manage the Accounts Payable process including setting up new vendors in the general ledger, distributing invoices to department heads for approval, and ensuring timely and accurate payment.• Synthesize data on ongoing costs for loan portfolio for management and external stakeholders• Partner with the Treasury department and Front Office on special projects• Supervise the preparation and processing of journal entries and related accruals.• Supervise reconciliation of general ledger and accrual accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.• Supervise reconciliation of bank accounts and credit card accounts on a monthly/quarterly basis.• Prepare and analyze supporting documentation for internal analysis, journal entries and footnotes• Prepare and analyze supporting documentation for external auditors and other external parties• Develop workflow process for vendor payments• Process wires, ACH, and transfers for settling transactions• Train staff members on accounting and operational procedures• Evaluate team members performance, and assist in establishing performance goals• Prepare monthly fixed assets depreciation worksheet• Assist in the preparation of budgets, income statements, and balance sheet• Compile variance data for income statement analysis• Prepare and post journal entries• Assist with monthly close and annual audits

• Document all claim activity and communication accurately and concisely in AS400• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all payments• Maintain accurate and timely reserves for all claims• Evaluate the validity of personal injury insurance claims and monitor case files over the course of treatment• Maintain current diary on all claims• Provide training and assistance to new employees• Establish timely contact with policy holders, claimants and witnesses following the report of a claim
