The beta version of the Agency Portal was built in 6 months and launched in 2015 with a fully scalable enterprise version rolling out in 2016 A bespoke replacement "Optimizer" to maximise advertising revenue by the optimal placement of advertising spots into linear programme schedules based on audience demographics, the project originated from an R&D proof of concept undertaken with Nottingham university which was then further developed by a third party supplier to take advantage of the scalability of cloud computing. Installation and rollout of the MuleSofts Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) integration platform at Channel 4, together with a centre of excellence governance model, a pilot project for broadcast disaster recovery, and a partner based Operations service delivery function, to support the production ESB platform and C4 development teams.
