CYMBAL - COLORADO YOUTH IN MUSIC BENEFITS ACADEMIC LEARNING“Every student in the nation should have an education in the arts.”…MENC Music Educators National ConferenceThe benefits conveyed by music education can be grouped in four categories:* Success in society* Success in school* Success in developing intelligence* Success in lifeMusic education in our schools has been jeopardized or eliminated due to the huge cuts in funding throughout the state. Pro Players Association is working with several local music professionals developing a music academy for youth in Colorado. The academy would be a nonprofit umbrella of our organization, offering an introduction to music and teaching instrumental lessons to disadvantaged, disabled, and at-risk youth. These children are the ones who have been most affected by the budget cuts in the school system's low income areas. The programs will help to get those kids acquainted and familiarized with musical possibilities through discipline, respect, responsibility, and success.Worked in association with the Denver Center for Performing Arts to present a 'Night at the Theatre Benefit' for CYMBAL. The event was a new American Play World Premiere, 'The Catch' in January 2011. A pre-show cocktail reception, art gallery and auction was held in the Bonfils Lobby. PPA provided several sports celebrities including former NY Yankee Pitcher Brian Fisher as VIP guests of the DCPA.The Boulder Symphony Orchestra and Tree Daddy Music will produce a concert to benefit CYMBAL in the fall of 2011. The performance will be a World Premiere of works by American Composer Ted Mentry.Organization of a US premiere of musical works by Norbert Glanzberg, Holocaust Lieder and Yiddish Suite, have begun in coordination with a local symphony orchestra. Portion of the proceeds from the concert event will benefit both The Holocaust Memorial Project at D.U. and CYMBAL.

Acting Chapter Director; reorganized chapter; appointed Director of Media Relations and Membership; Co-Chair of Celebrity Golf TournamentPersonally recruited for this position by the president and vice president of the NFL Alumni Association who both flew in from Florida to Colorado to meet and encourage me to take the position to re-organize the Rocky Mountain chapter. I accepted and reorganized the local chapter recruiting over 100 local NFL Alumni to attend our inaugural meeting. All attendees registered as members that evening. Due to the fact that I was not a football player, but a professional photographer shooting for the NFL, I was not permitted to be the president of the organization according to their charter. I was appointed Acting Director until there was an election for officers from the charter membership of this newly formed chapter. In the election, I was elected to occupy the posts of Director of Membership and Director of Media Relations.

Chief photographer of the Mayor's 2nd term successful Re-Election Campaign.During this time, Gary was also fortunate to have photographed many professional sports events of the NHL, NFL, MLB, MLS, Olympics, notably including two Stanley Cups, several NFL playoff games, SB XXXIII, the inaugural Rockies game and MLB playoffs, and the Olympic Festival.

As a member of the Colorado Rockies Prospector Club from 1993-1998, Gary helped promote Major League Baseball to the Rocky Mountain Region. The Colorado Rockies presented him Sales Excellence Awards for obtaining "#1 in Number of Seasons Tickets Sold" and "#2 in Ticket Sales Revenue" for the 1994 season. Gary also represented the Colorado Rockies as an ambassador during the 1998 All-Star Classic. He had the honor to be designated to escort retired Major Leaguer Lou Brock around at the Coors Field festivities. Gary was later honored by the Colorado Rockies with a Certificate of Appreciation for his services during the All-Star week.
