Fraud Investigations within the NHS, predominantly within Primary Care setting

I have been a qualified LCFS for approx 11 years and have extensive experience in the areas of Internal Audit / Finance / Risk Management. I have worked for 360 assurance since March 2008 and currently hold a senior management role within the organisation. I oversee the delivery of anti-crime contracts, taking into account the work of Internal Audit, finances involved in delivering contracts. I have a detailed working knowledge of and the means to practically apply all relevant legislation and professional standards in relation to the investigation and prosecution of suspected fraud/corruption/security offences. I have led successful prosecutions on behalf of 360 Assurance, liaising with the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) and considering relevant legislation such as CPIA, PACE, DPA/GDPR. I manage investigative work carried out by staff to ensure compliance with legislation and have overall responsibility to manage and ensure that both work is conducted in line with relevant professional standards. I also manage 360 Assurances Security Management Services.

Responsibility to act as Mental Health Act Manager for organisation ensuring that those detained under the MHA were done so within the legal framework. Produced and carried out training for staff regarding MHA, arranged MHA Committee and produced and presented papers. Led on ad-hoc projects, i.e. records management. Assisted the legal Services Manager with a caseload of litigation claims made against the organisation. Assisted the Corporate Governance Manager with their role in ensuring appropriate governance around the organisations committee/Board meetings.

Worked as a Counter Fraud Specialist undertaking all aspects of the role, including but not limited to, managing a portfolio of clients, attend and presenting papers at committee meetings, investigating allegations of fraud and where appropriate and necessary progressing through to criminal prosecution by the production of files to the Crown Prosecution service.
