I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. After graduating from Eastern High School in 1973 I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Peru, South America from 1974 to 1976. Upon returning I worked with my father while completing an electrician and heating/HVAC apprenticeship. I met and married my wife, Susan in 1977. We have one son, William, who is married and has 1 daughter. I returned to school to graduate first from Jefferson Community College in 1982 and the University of Louisville in 1984 with a BA in Biology. I then graduated from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1988. I completed my internship and 3 additional years of post graduate training with the University of Louisville Department of Anesthesiology. In 1992 I joined Hamilton Anesthesia Associates in Hamilton, Ohio where I started the pain management program at Fort Hamilton-Hughes Memorial Hospital. I returned to Louisville in 1998 to go into private practice medicine in interventional pain medicine. I am self-employed in solo practice in Gary L. Reasor, MD, PSC d.b.a. Metro Pain Associates. I am a 15-year veteran of the United States Army Reserves, enlisting in 1983 and going through basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. I accepted a commission in the Medical Corps after graduating from medical school and was called up to active duty during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
