Since joining the British Army, I developed quality security, combat leadership, team working and instructional abilities. I have experienced Active Service (and combat) in Iraq, Afghanistan and Northern Ireland (2x 6 month tours in Iraq, 3 tours of Northern Ireland and 1 in Afghanistan). Iraq: (2006 & 2008) • Maintained and developed security sector reforms by means of foot and mobile patrols• Part of a 4 man team of CPOs• Provided security in Baghdad’s Green Zone and convoy security from Kuwait to Basra City• Searched cars, houses, people, and cleared routes and carried out other tasks• Helped train Iraqi military personnel • As a Member of the a Quick Reaction Force (QRF) operated at the highest threat level • Liaised with the Iraqi population, collated evidence and information and wrote reportsAfghanistan (2002): • Pushed back the Taliban as part of a joint military-civilian plan • Ensured the supply chain was not affected by enemy forces by carrying out security duties• Member of security patrols and helped coordinate safe passages for colleagues• Provided security to the local Afghan population during area reconstruction• Partnered Afghan Forces on various operations and tasks• Carried out complex operations as part of the Battle Group• Carried out tactical questioning of suspects throughout the tour• On Checkpoints: Produced intelligence reports, collated Human Terrain MappingNorthern Ireland (2001-02 & 2004-05):• Carried out full range of operational duties such as security patrols, surveillance• Dealt with and tackled public disorder throughout• Maintained provincial security in the form of static and mobile operationsFalkland Islands (2009 & 2012)• Low-level patrols visiting and assisting those in the remote settlements
