The Skainos Project is an urban regeneration development in inner East Belfast providing shared space for community transformation and renewal. Growing out of the work of the East Belfast Mission (EBM) it brings together a range of strategic partnerships which will contribute to the holistic regeneration of one of the most economically and socially deprived communities in Northern Ireland.Skainos gathers under one roof all aspects of the work undertaken by EBM including homelessness services, employability, social economy projects, youth work, family work, community development and peace building as well as a vibrant worshipping community.Skainos Ltd is a social economy operation and a registered charity and all surpluses generated through the room hire and conference facilities will be distributed to projects in inner East Belfast which are seeking to extend shared space in this contested part of Belfast.

My role was to manage a developing business for the Lubricants element of the EMO business. The key duties were to increase sales, increase gross and net margin, manage costs, manage the sales teams in both Northern and Southern Ireland.The NI business showed significant growth in the premium branded market, and I introduced an own brand product which provided significant growth in turnover and revenue in both NI and RoI.In my time at EMO, I reviewed and, ultimately, outsourced the logistics system, reducing the storage and delivery costs by on average 40% per month.The day to day responsibilities included management of three salespeople and two administration staff.Ongoing responsibilities included the forecasting and agreement of budgets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis, business development, managing customer relations, devising and implementing sales and marketing plans and strategies.
