Currently partaking in the Student mentoring programme between Cornmarket and Business in the Community Ireland. This involves meeting up with a fifth year student every two weeks between now and when he finishes sixth year in June 2017. After being assigned a particular student it is my role to try and help him in any way I can. When we meet I try to encourage him as much as possible and help him talk about what he is finding difficult at the minute. I use my own experience to try and overcome any obstacle. When I originally signed up for this programme I was not really sure what I was getting involved in. I believed it was a great opportunity to give something back and see the progression of the student over the two years. It was a massive eye opener to see the challenges young kids from not so fortunate backgrounds face and has made me appreciate how fortunate I am. I feel that it there is no substitute for life experience and surprised myself it how much advice and help I was able to give him.

Currently excelling in my current role where I have worked my way up to the top tier through hard work and determination. I am working in the education market where I am dealing with teachers on a daily basis. I have also spent a long time on the medical market dealing primarily with nurses financial needs. By doing the two biggest markets in the company it has allowed me to get a huge insight in to why this company is so successful. Required to build strong and lasting relationships with clients by gaining their trust and hoping to help them in any way possible with their financial affairs. Look at all clients protection needs and make sure if the worst was to happen that they will be adequately looked after. Provide advice on changing sick pay entitlements for public sector employees and advise on pension queries. Very comfortable dealing with individual problems for client or management.Currently thriving in the training process for any new consultant hired. Requires helping new recruits learn as much as possible as quickly as possible. Showing them first hand what it takes to succeed in the job by shadowing me in an appointment.
