Pursuant to the sale of Burton Group to Gartner in late 2009, I supported the integration between the two organizations. Integration has been smooth, Gartner has treated former Burton employees well and I left Gartner in August, 2010.

Supported building Burton Group from a $1.8 million company in 1998 to over $30 million in revenue on a self-funded basis. Expanded from 11 employees to 140 during this period and added several new product lines. Architected company growth strategy, built the annual business plan and controlled costs to improve EBITDA/revenue to consistent double digit percentages. Handled all day-to-day operations with entire senior management team reporting to me. Attracted and retained top-level talent in all areas. Culminated with the sale of Burton to Gartner for $56 million.

Principal consultant to Global 1000 organizations in the areas of electronic messaging, directory services, identity management, security, EDI and corporate use of internet-based technologies. Personally led over 100 successful consulting engagements during this period, conducted over 50 technology seminars, developed a bi-monthly technology journal, was a board member of the electronic messaging association and chaired the US-NTMS (a consortium of public messaging providers). I was considered a world-class expert in the areas of identity management, Internet security, network infrastructure, directory services and electronic messaging. I facilitated and supported the acquisition of Rapport Communication by Burton Group in 1998.

Business-level responsibility for the development and commercialization of key infrastructure technologies supporting AT&T's electronic messaging, global internet expansion, directory services and value-added data services. Successfully managed a P&L and a 50 person team. Selected and funded AT&T Bell Lab projects with commercial potential. Represented AT&T in the North American Directory Forum.

Responsible for NCR's data communication strategy, direction and programs within the general purpose systems division (GPSD). Developed the overall communication architecture, helped position NCR's programs against major competitors, worked to integrate programs with NCR's retail and financial divisions and articulated the strategy and advantages to major clients.Also had business responsibility (P&L as well as development objectives) for three NCR operating units.
