I monitored progress and measured performance utilizing earned-value management software (EVMS) on a $90 million electrical transmission system upgrade/improvements project linking Western with Palo-Verde Hub project (Salt River Project). The project also upgrades Western's transmission system south of Phoenix, and provides opportunities for alternative energy sources to connect and transmit power to market. Components of the project include upgrades/rebuilding of two 230-kV substations, and over 30 miles of new 230-kV transmission lines.
