Primary Responsibilities:- Source high-quality plant oils, butters, resins and unprocessed botanical ingredients from trusted African growers and cooperatives.- Vet suppliers thoroughly; perform on-site checks and lab tests to ensure purity standards for each material.- Maintain a small, selective portfolio of premium bulk ingredients catering to artisanal natural products manufacturers.- Manage relationships with grower co-ops in remote African villages to establish ethical, sustainable and transparent sourcing.- Prospect and develop wholesale accounts; negotiate bulk supply agreements with new business partners.- Coordinate logistics of exporting bulk commodities from African countries to buyers worldwide.- Represent the company at trade shows; consult manufacturers on formulating with unique African botanicals.Requirements:- 3+ years experience sourcing commodities directly from origin sites.- Expert knowledge of natural plant oils and extracts used in cosmetics, medicinals, etc.- Commitment to equitable, sustainable partnerships across the supply chain.- Willingness to regularly travel to Africa to visit producers on location.
