I am responsible for executing the firm’s strategic agenda and enabling coherence across the business. I have oversight of the non-investment functions and actively support the development and delivery of products and transactions.

Ongoing consulting support to the co-founder, advising Oryx Real Estate Partners on designing and implementing the operational infrastructure for a start-up investment management business, navigating the regulatory and tax landscape, providing transaction support and ongoing business operations.Discrete advisory projects including:- Advised an internationally scaling e-commerce business on ownership structuring to support strategic organic growth.- Advising early stage investment managers with a desktop review of the business and insight to fund structuring, and fundraising readiness vis-à-vis an investor relations strategy and expectations to raise institutional capital.- Advised a broker on a specific tax matter linked to a European RE transaction.- Advice in respect of personal cross border investment ventures from a structuring and asset protection perspective.

After returning to the UK from the UAE, I spent a year at Deloitte delivering multiple advisory projects, supporting client C-suite, principals and founders, as an engagement originator and / or leader. Project highlights included: - Advice to a global bank on alternative investments / allocation into private market funds.- Structuring of investment management firms across ownership, carry and co-invest arrangements, fund structuring and investment structuring.

I first joined this global multi asset / private equity firm on secondment from EY, before being hired to lead the Tax and Corporate Affairs departments across circa 18 global offices, directing a team of five, and reporting to the Group CFO. After my official departure and Abraaj Group’s closure in June 2018, I supported the liquidators and bidders for legacy assets for six months. Highlights included:- Heading comprehensive review of people, processes, data and systems, transforming the quality of support to investment teams / business on transaction execution.- Creating a first-rate international tax function from scratch as senior point of escalation across group, funds / investors, and investment matters. - Leading major change projects and providing cross-functional business partnering.

After joining EY in the UK, I advised clients on UK and international tax, achieving notable success for significant clients on corporate restructuring projects between 2006 and 2008. I relocated to the UAE to strategically target MENA sovereign institutions, collaborating internally across all service lines to support growth, coordination and execution of global services.In 2010, I progressed to a position providing M&A and international tax services for family offices, sovereign wealth funds and multinationals, together with senior internal responsibilities.

Joining the Big 4 (initially with Arthur Andersen), I was responsible for corporate tax advisory, compliance and provision cycles for a portfolio of clients. I then moved to Corporate Finance, focused on PPP / PFI transactions in public sector housing, schools and highways.
