Using an array of sensors including Radar, Sonar, Electronicwarfare and Data systems to see what’s happening on the sea and in the air, thenpassing the information to Warfare Officers, ships and other assets.In 2004 I completed my Professional Leadership course, which enable me to instruct other members within crew to carry out operations, maintain communications equipment, and teach engineering practices.On joining the Royal Navy I completed 8 week Basic training, which then lead onto undertaking and passing my trade qualification to become a Operating Mechanic specializing in communications. During my Royal Navy Career I also undertook adventure training in my spare time, which instilled leadership skills, which were able to be applied to my working role when being deployed on humanitarian aid rescues in Sierra Leone. Overall, the Royal Navy taught me how to apply discipline, honesty and integrity in diverse and changing environments. Show less
