My experience spans more than 40 years within in the Life Science arena. My initial career in the Pharmaceutical sector with Merck and Novartis (Ciba Geigy) include key roles over fourteen years in Sales, Regional sales management and Marketing management executive before moving to Med-Tech sector in 1994.Within Medical Devices I have extensive experience in Business Leadership, amongst the positions held are Sales management, Marketing Director, Country General Manager & Northern Europe General Manager. In 2008 I moved into the regulatory taking the Global Director Role at BSI Group with full P&L responsibility for all Medical device Operations. Technology areas of experience include Interventional Cardiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Cardiac Surgery, IV Therapy, General Surgical equipment and Medical Device Regulator. I have been successful in leadership positions within Global Blue Chip leading companies, including Medtronic (11years), Novartis (5 years) and Boston Scientific (Guidant 4 years). I have extensive experience and knowledge of the UK healthcare environment NHS and DOH. As well as other markets in Europe and North America.My current 13 years experience in the regulatory sector has further extended my in-depth knowledge of and understanding of the medical device industry. The BSI Global leadership role has given me a real insight into professional service delivery across 23 different country office locations. Over 10 years I led a sub £10m business through to in excess of £120m with a CAGR of >20%. Attaining market leadership in the Medical Device regulatory space, developing and expanding our Medical Device Certification business exponentially. In 2018 I decided to take a step back and focus more on the Regulatory aspects and moved into the role of SVP Governance Regulatory Clinical and Training, whilst continuing to retaining a key role in BSI Groups Global Medical Device Business Leadership working closely with my successor.
