Gary has over 30 years experience designing and supporting network infrastructures. After working with Novell networks for several years, in 1993 he became a Charter Member Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) specializing in Microsoft Back Office solutions. Involved with Windows NT, Active Directory, SMS, SQL Server, and Exchange since their beta development versions, Gary's experience with Microsoft technologies is extensive. For five years, he worked exclusively in the Data Center industry, designing redundant, load-balanced, high-availability systems and networks supporting Internet commerce sites. He has also designed large-scale (over 35,000 users) Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Plans (DR/BCP) that address network failure scenarios. From 2000 to 2009, Gary was a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and worked extensively for one of the Common Criteria Testing Labs (CCTL) evaluating security evidence as part of the Common Criteria Evaluation and Validation Scheme (CCEVS), an internationally recognized method of certifying security related hardware and software solutions. Gary is also a professional clarinetist, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Butler University, studied at Peabody Conservatory, and has performed around the world. He is currently principal clarinetist with the Blue Ridge Orchestra, the founder of the Asheville Clarinet Quartet, and has performed with the Asheville Symphony, the Symphony of the Mountains, the Western Piedmont Symphony, the Carolinas Wind Orchestra, and the Evansville Philharmonic.Specialties: Currently hold or have held these certifications: CISSP, MCSE, MCT, CCT+, CCNA, MCNE
