Gary L. Spivey is the Managing Director of The Derne Group. He is well attuned, not only to the needs of the individual security specialist, but to the bottom line.Gary has the distinction of serving as Aegis LLC’s Director of Training from 2011 to 2014, during their stand-up phase of the US embassy in Kabul Afghanistan. Gary was instrumental in maintaining a smooth transition during an otherwise turbulent time wherein the company assumed control over the Kabul Embassy Security Force, the largest contract award to date issued by the U.S. State Department. Not content to simply maintain status quo, Gary thrived - he successfully managed and trained thousands of security specialists while maintaining the lowest recorded attrition rate in the program's history. The U.S. State Department High-Threat Division noted it as "the most successful stand-up of a security firm in the history of the program".Gary is currently the Managing Director for The Derne Group.
