This extends to traction/power electronics and also battery based systems both lead acid and nickel cadmium. Aswell as the above there is a requirement to also support other engineers where required with their systems and work streams.Working in the central Engineering function means that I cover all Siemens rolling stock across the UK, from Glasgow to Southampton and Eurostar Class 374 fleet.

Working within the maintenance optimisation team to reduce train down time by extending train maintenance using condition assessments.Currently responsible for the maintenance optimisation and overhaul requirements for power collection and distribution (inc batteries), traction and auxiliary control, cab and passenger door systems, train air delivery, external body shell on all of the siemens fleets within the UK by carrying out condition assessments at calculated intervals to gain an indication to the remaining life left in components and subsequently making recommendations and justifications to their extending running.Currently developing the specification for the SWT repaint a total of 733 vehicles which is due to commence in 2016.

Currently supporting the Metropolitain Line with the Circle, Hammersmith & City Line and the District Line to follow.Engineering work packages with performance, reliability, safety and cost targetsResponsibilities - Specifying customers spares with a value of £4M, train overhaul and Damage and Vandalism correction .Lead engineer for HVAC, Current Collection (Shoegear) and switchgear control.Working to a tight and busy schedule with a constant lookout for improvement and maintain customer relations.

Looking after reliability and maintenance of the Virgin Pendolino Fleet.Fault investigation and correction. mainly on the fiat active car tilt systems and the Alstom Onix traction package.

Working supporting the First Group fleet of Class 365 EMU's.Mainly looking after the GTO fired traction equipment and auxiliary power inverter equipment.
