My professional journey has uniquely positioned me for my current role of principal at Stephen T. Mather High School. With firsthand experience as an acting and assistant principal at Schurz High School, an Instructional Support Leader of 28 diverse schools (7 high schools and 21 elementary schools), and the valuable time spent teaching at Keller Regional Gifted Center, has prepared me to be the leader for the students at Mather High School. As a result, my leadership style is firmly rooted in transformational principles. I have an ability to inspire and motivate staff, enabling them to be sources of support for our students. During my tenure as an acting principal and mentor with a strong instructional background, I have learned the value of reflection and attention to detail while refining one’s craftAs an educator and leader, I truly value a school culture that believes all students can achieve at high levels no matter what their interests are. I believe it is the school leader’s responsibility to create an environment that fosters a strong and positive culture through transformative practices within areas of school operations and organizations, curriculum and instruction, and climate and culture.
