startup agency in 1997 adding the first employee in 1998 (Abbe Johnson Egeland) who is still with agency today as personal lines agent and customer service representative. Andra Herpst is our Commercial Service Representative and has been with the agency 8 years. Chase Rhodes came to the agency in 2013 as a sales representative. Mike Morgan is with the agency and is responsible for health plans, disability, and commercial accounts. Jeremy Thacker is the business manager responsible for everything but sales. Sue Gainer is our bookkeeper and compliance officer. The agency has evolved from selling many various products to a wide range of clients and just writing business to focusing on clients who recognize they can't know about everything but need an agent and want our advice. This allows us to explain the companies and products that best meet their coverage needs. It has accounted for additional growth and enabled us to feel better about the clients we deal with. This led to fewer service and claims phone calls. We have fewer employees than we did 5 years ago due to this and that we strive to stay as technologically current as possible. We have still maintained the same level of growth with lower losses and less stress. We intentionally reduced the number of companies we deal with and focus on the ones who are franchises and fit the profile we are comfortable representing. We are in need of another commercial market with that being a primary goal for 2015. Our primary companies are Auto-Owners for commercial, life and personal lines clients, Safeco for personal lines accounts, Travelers for personal and commercial accounts, Progressive/American Strategic for home and auto accounts, and American Modern Insurance for specialty risk accounts. We use several other companies and brokers for specific things we do but these are our main focus.
