"Existential Angst" has defined me until recently. It took 50-60 years, but I'm finally over my ingrained childhood mythological beliefs, not forgetting the past and these beliefs but instead moving forward day by day, The mind is like a fulcrum for the body. I have come to believe that life is like Jean-Paul's Sartre's play "No Exit," where life pretty much has no meaning, at least no meaning we humans can figure out. Life, to me, is essentially absurd... but as an agnostic I'm open to more fully understand the nature of our human existence if that is possible? One can be stuck between a rock and a hard place in life, like Sisyphus, and yet find contentment... like a happy Sisyphus. After getting my left knee crushed and my head slammed into the pavement while in a protected crosswalk by a woman driving a car, who obviously should not be allowed to drive a car around humans, I have never felt more positive for the present and the future. My divorce was finalized in 2005 after officially almost 22 years of marriage and three kids. I was clinically depressed and homeless on and off after this from about 2005 to 2014, struggling to find meaning. During this time I worked sporadically driving trucks for short spans over-the-road and in a Wyoming oil field. In early 2015 I worked part-time and temporarily as a Liberty Tax sign-waver for a short time, wearing a funny and ridiculous statue of liberty costume. Yes, I wore a Stature of Liberty costume, and waved at passing motorists with my advertising signs for Liberty Tax. Actually, I enjoyed it and the people I worked for were great.I was surviving on SSDI, Hud/Vash, and twice weekly plasma "donations." But since I got smashed by that car in that protected crosswalk I can't "donate" plasma now.
