I am now semi-retired. I was formerly Qld Director Project Management Services and Project Director for Capital Insight. I have a personal and professional commitment to project governance, high-quality decision-making and written reports (including cost reporting), robust project management procedures, risk management practices and continuous improvement through the capture of lessons-learnt. I continue to work part-time for Capital Insight as a contractor as Project Director for the Charles Darwin University Education and Community Precinct Project ($220m), completion Q# 2024. I was Superintendent for the Atherton Hospital project ($75m), 2019-2023. In 2020, I completed the role of Project Manager and Superintendent for the SD Phase of the UQ Health and Recreation Centre ($64m) project. Previous roles over recent years include Superintendent's Rep on the Rockhampton Hospital Car Park project ($20m), Principal's Rep on the UQ Forgan Smith project ($30m) and an intense short period as Acting Executive Project Manager for the $585m Hobart Hospital project.In 2016 I led the SD/DD design phases of the Hervey Bay ED project ($44m). On the Roma Hospital project ($75m) I was PM at short notice (to replace existing PM) to ensure that the SD and Gate 2 Business Case were completed on time and on budget. This was successfully achieved including IRC and CBRC approval of the project.I was Project Director for QH Infrastructure Branch for the $470m Townsville Hospital project from March 2012 to completion of the main project in July 2015. The project was completed under budget.I was Superintendent's Rep for the UQ Oral Health Centre in Brisbane, a $130m project during 2012-14. I took on this role mid project to replace the encumbent and to help resolve significant existing complex contractual issues and differences. The project was successfully completed and the parties agreed to a financial settlement.I was Project Director for the $430m Liverpool Hospital project (2005-12) and Program Director for the $200m Westmead Hospital project (2001-2005). Both projects were delivered under budget.I was a Director of the NSW Fire Brigades from February 1993 to September 2001 after acting as a specialist Project Manager on contract since August 1990. Prior to that I spent nearly 20 years in the construction industry working for various contractors on a full range of construction projects and roles.BAppSc (Building), MBA, HR Diploma, Member of the AIPM.
