Working for the most part as an assistant merchandiser on a buying group that turns over £30m a year without a merchandiser, taking full responsibility for merchandising KPI’s having only worked within the field for a year..Been a crucial part of the planning, forecasting and successful implementation of a year of the promotional trading plan, including the DIY Essentials and KBT Winter layflat, this involved presenting our product and “reasons to believe” to category directors and senior merchandisers. I was the only assistant merchandiser to do this as part of the Winter layflat this year..Regularly analysing and reporting on sales performance, reporting this information to stakeholders.Knowledge of B and Q systems including Analyst workbench and MAX. Also a knowledge of B and Q processes such as range review, promotional planning, pricing and trading.

Maintaining stock levels and managing products including new ranges and obsolete products for a large IT reseller. Other tasks on a day to day basis involved making sure prices are always competitive, working to push “dead” stock that has been in stock for more than 2 months, all the while looking for opportunities to increase the company’s overall margin.Building relationships with distributors and vendors, learning about new products and areas to grow business for both them and me. A large aspect of this involves regular meetings to discuss ways to further margin by increasing awareness, this is usually done by securing marketing funds from vendors for things such as space on e-shots and website promotions or gaining advertising in magazines and review websites.Providing product support to a 50 strong business sales team as they quote new and existing customers, pricing up wireless solutions, software licencing agreements and monitors and large format displays.Awarded “People’s People” Award 2013 – voted for by all members of staff for my attitude, willingness to help and work abilities.I also received a promotion from Junior Product Manager during my time at Novatech and was put in charge of much larger and more important product categories.
