Previously Anadarko Petroleum until the acquisition by Occidental in 2019. Responsible for planning, co-ordination and execution of shutdown activities. Production of the facility is 110 KBOPD. CPF consists of 4 trains with associated gas process and gas injection compressors, produced water treatment, well water treatment, water injection, oil storage tanks, flares and common utilities. I oversee and manage the preparation of shutdowns including statutory inspections (3 & 10 year intervals) of vessels, heaters, exchangers etc (steam cleaning, bundle pulling & hydro test programmes), repair and re-coating of vessels, installation of tie-ins to implement Field Change Proposals (FCPs), gas process and injection compressors, gas turbines, PSV recertification campaigns and any SD dependent CM’s or PM’s. Management of contractors with numbers in the region of 400-500 on site during SD execution.Preparation of Technical Reports (Shutdown Close-out reports, Lesson Learned Reports etc), prepare and review procedures, review of work lists, work packs, risk assessments and Safe systems of work, materials management and requisitions. Co-ordinate activities, including working with the Operations Department to implement and maintain shutdown isolation strategy (LOTO), maintenance activities, Vendor scopes, de-isolation, pre-commissioning and re-commissioning of systems throughout shutdown life cycle. Modify and adapt the plan to any emergent scope changes to ensure the SD stays on track.Management of the planning and methods department personnel including Planning Engineers, Mechanical Maintenance/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineers, Mechanical Work pack Coordinators and Field Supervisors.Chair regular SD meetings as the main Interface between maintenance, planning, HSE, operations, construction, technical department, logistics, purchasing, contracts and engineering. Chair meetings to identify, record and mitigate any associated risks to the SD.

Play a proactive role in the safe execution and champion Business Safety Programmes and initiatives.Actively manage and monitor the Shutdown Budget including receipting and invoicing.Produce and roll out the Shutdown Roadmap, a Gate Stage Process indicating timeline for deliverables.Acting as the interface between all work scope sponsors involved in the Shutdown such as Engineering, Maintenance and Operations.Responsible for ensuring that all deliverables such as work-packs, plant, equipment, materials and manpower required for the shutdown work activities are called-off and available in line with the Shutdown timelines.Ensure that all Support Services are available for the preparation and execution phases including Scaffolding, Rigging and Logistics.Communicating closely with the Offshore Services Team to ensure a composite Deck Plan is produced prior to the SD and maintained throughout execution.Hold monthly and weekly meetings and conference calls with key sponsors and Offshore prior to the shutdown pre-work and implementation phase to ensure all stakeholders are aligned to the delivery dates as detailed within the shutdown preparation plan. Ensure that various trackers are updated on a daily basis, which cover all aspects of the Shutdown preparation and readiness in the months prior to the shutdown.Oversee, co-ordinate, implement and drive the shutdown integrated plan. Co-ordinate vendor support required for the successful completion of the shutdown including Inspection and Vessel Cleaning Teams, Nitrogen Services and Flange Management.Perform shutdown active monitoring duties on all shutdown work scopes Report all shutdown activity progress to the Management team on a daily basis with 24 hour progressManage conflict throughout the execution phase to utilise the best use of manpower and resources.Hold Shutdown wash up\Lessons learned meetings, post Shutdown, and supply feedback to all involved. I was based in TAQA Bratani HQ offices in Westhill, Aberdeen.My Role was co-ordinating Hydratight Shutdown activities on all TAQA Bratani assets, in the Northern North Sea. I am familiar with IDEAS-TAQA Bratani Shutdown Management process and I’m well versed in shutdown timelines and protocol that’s required for successful shutdowns.As part of the Shutdown Team, I would report to the Shutdown Team Lead and my duties include, but are not limited to, Quoting and pricing projects, Attending shutdown meetings and offering onshore advice to the client on torque/tension activities, on site machining and flange management, Populating Flange Break Registers, Travelling offshore to carry out site surveys, mobilising manpower and equipment. I was also responsible for tracking costs and invoicing, approving timesheets and forecasting.As part of the Shutdown Team I have worked closely with various Shutdown Co-ordinators both onshore, and during offshore visits, assisting in the preparation, planning and execution of platform shutdowns. I have chaired meetings on behalf of the Shutdown Co-ordinator when required.I also liaised with onshore and offshore Material Co-ordinators ensuring the readiness of equipment for vessel sailings.

My duties included the planning, co-ordination and execution of shutdowns and new build projects on behalf of Hydratight, both in the UK and overseas, Populating flange management systems from work packs supplied by the client, carrying out site surveys and ensuring the correct equipment and level of manpower is available and on site. Co-ordinating the work scopes and liaising closely with the leak test teams.Attending shutdown meetings and offering onshore advice to the client on torque/tension activities, on site machining and flange management.Travelling offshore to prepare and manage the Joint Integrity System that’s in use, to ensure a smooth and leak free start up.

While working for PSL I was heavily involved in a major construction project in the Tengiz Oilfeild, Kazakhstan.Working as a Site Supervisor, I would distribute and co-ordinate the workload to a multi national workforce of up to 25 men, ensuring it was completed safely and on time. Preparing and controlling a flange management system that would then be handed over to the client on completion. I also ensured we had the correct equipment and level of competent technicians on site when needed.I was also involved in the N2He and Pneumatic testing of the systems before handing over to the client.

I worked for HPL on various shutdown, construction and maintenance contracts both onshore and offshore, in the UK and overseas, including, Nigeria, Belgium, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.My duties included basic mechanical fitting, the make up and controlled tightening of bolted connections, using a wide range of torque/tension equipment and hand tools.Locating worksites and materials using P&IDs and Isometric drawings.Carrying out Chargehand duties when called upon.

I enlisted in the Army on leaving school; I spent 7 years in the Corps of Royal Engineers. My duties included combat engineering, mine warfare, demolitions and construction work. I also gained my HGV licence. During my time I served in Northern Ireland, Macedonia and Gibraltar, as well as the U.K.I represented my Squadron at both football and boxing.
