Safety, Security and Training Consultant.I Retired as a Public Safety Sergeant (police, fire and rescue) in 2012 (police)(2016 fire) after 32 years of service. Consult with schools, the housing industry and houses of worship on safety, security and staff training. In 2000 I put together a team of educators, worked and developed one of the first school based critical violent incident plans post Columbine. Developed training programs for schools, medical and industrial groups.Conduct security site assessments, emergency planning, plan reviews/updates, mitigation,and crisis management with real world solutions. Perform lockdown drills with critical assessments and school staff training as well as school transportation staff training.I developed a Violence in the Workplace training for public housing groups, industry and have worked with Human Resource groups. I have presented this program multiple times at the state and 8 state regional level for the National Association of Housing and Rural Developers Officials.I am on the Montcalm County Emergency Management Advisory Council (EMAC) and chairman of the Local Emergency Planning Team (LEPT).I am President of the Greenville Housing Commission, President of the Michigan Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (MI-NARHO). Board member on North Central Regional Council (NCRC) of NARHO and also on the NARHO Commissioners Board.I am a former board member for Relief After Violent Encounters Domestic (RAVE) for domestic violence, currentboard member of Allsup Ministries.I attended leadership training at Northwestern University, School of Police Staff and Command and completed the Northwestern University Executive Management Program. Additionally, have completed the FEMA Professional Development Program, Retail Security Awareness, Special Event Contingency Planning, Multi-Hazard Emergency Planning for Schools, Active Shooter Response, and National Incident Management System (NIMS) .I have attended Fox Valley Community College, Physical, Business Safety and Security program. I completed Michigan Fire Fighter Training Council, Company Officer I & II, along with many other professional development courses. I have received many awards including NCRC Alvira Long Memorial Award for Commissioners, the NCRC Charles A. Thompson Award for Distinguished Service and the Police Medal of Honor for action while under hostile fire. I am an Eagle Scout with Palms and earned the God & Country award.
