The basis of my role was to produce timely and accurate sales estimations / tenders working from our master plan up to meet our clients needs. My role also included speaking with suppliers, Assisting in the maintenance of base price controls, Tender variations and completing our as displayed price lists.

My first year and a half at Metricon I spent only doing production estimating. Creating an accurate set of purchase orders for each individual job based on the clients home design, while aiming to keep our ETS items to a minimum. Once skilled and self monitoring in production estimating i was trained in sales estimating to produce quotes based on clients selected upgrades and inclusions and was then able to assist both departments depending on the workflow requirements.

My job role was to design wall frames using the Mitek program based on client supplied plans. The wall frames designed would then be constructed within the factory and sent out to site for erection, so it was crucial to be extremely accurate in the design. Within the wall frames lintel sizes, engineering, bracing layouts, wind speed calculations all had to be taken into consideration and designed to suit each job on it's merit.
