About Gary Warkentin

With over 30 years of leadership in the Department of Defense and the U.S. Air Force, I've now relocated from the Washington D.C. Beltway to "The American Riviera" paradise that is Santa Barbara (my hometown) and taken on the position of Chief Administrative Officer in the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office. I have a Master of Science in Health Sciences with a focus on Emergency Management and six other Associates and Bachelor degrees, which helped inform my unique perspective on national strategic studies, executive administrative support, public health and healthcare administration, and personnel leadership. Additionally, I have significant skills and experience in written and verbal communication, change management, analytical thinking, and Microsoft Office productivity and data visualization software. I am a decorated Air Force veteran and world traveler with vast life experiences, a passion for learning, and a commitment to excellence and service, blessed with one wife, two kids, seven college degrees... and excellent taste in great music.
